The Community Development Law Center "CDLC" is a nonprofit law office that assists nonprofit community-based organizations serving low income people in Oregon. We offer to nonprofit organizations and units of local government:

  • Low cost legal services and technical assistance on a wide variety of governance and operations, land use, housing, commercial and industrial development, construction, sustainability/energy and preservation efforts, various tax credit and other business ventures , economic development, employment/contracting, healthcare, Medicaid/Medicare and other regulatory compliance issues, and other nonprofit legal issues.

  • Trainings, Classes, Workshops

  • Self help materials and model documents

We work throughout Oregon due to the generous support of Legal Aid Services of Oregon, Lewis and Clark Law School, The Collins Foundation and others.

The Community Development Law Center employs attorneys licensed to practice in the state of Oregon. Our principal office is located in Portland, Oregon. The Community Development Law Center assists in Affordable Housing Project RVCDC in Medford/Ashland combined USDA RD Mutual Self-Help with CDBG, and Youthbuild all to create affordable homes in one of Oregon's most expensive markets---all with Land Leasing from RVCDC for permanent affordability. RCAC ran a nice story that RVCDC's ED wrote. Now, RVCDC is using the same strategy in the 3rd subdivision (for a total of 30 homes completed or in planning).
