Martha Taylor

Martha has focused her practice on representing nonprofit corporations for the past fifteen years. She has extensive experience in real estate development funded with tax credits as well as with both revenue and general obligation bonds. In addition, Martha has provided general corporate and employment law advice to the nonprofit organizations for which she has worked.

Prior to joining the CDLC, Martha served as staff attorney with the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, first serving as counsel for the multifamily lending program using both 221(d)(3) and (d)(4) funding and risk-share funding. She then served as counsel to the single family mortgage program, addressing lending and servicing issues. Prior to this position, Martha was in-house counsel for the Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association, a large nonprofit corporation located in the Denver, Colorado area and affiliated with the NeighborWorks network. In this capacity she participated in the purchase, construction and management of over 2,000 units of affordable housing. She has also served as staff attorney with the Resolution Trust Corporation in its affordable housing preservation program, and as attorney and partner at Calkins Kramer Grimshaw and Harring, Denver, Colorado. She has many years of experience working with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, tax-exempt bond financing and various HUD and local housing programs. She has formed and represented a Community Development Financial Institution.

Martha graduated from Douglas College, a college of Rutgers University, and earned her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.
